The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary's Migratory Bird Day Festival
Sunday, May 11th Time: 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Shift: Stay for the entire event or just a portion of it. Location: 2425 9 Ave S.E.
A little bit about the Festival: Birds have long been indicators of environmental change, sounding the alarm about the impacts of pesticides, polluted water, and the loss of forest. This year on May 11, 2008 we will promote the joy of birds while educating people about how hard migration is "From Tundra to Tropics". The Festival will host a variety of activities for children and adults, including nature walks, family games, crafts, displays and demonstrations. http://www.birdday.org/
California visit, August 1-3
A new volunteer opportunity for interested Sierra Club members: We will be hosting a paid event for a group of Sierra Clubbers visiting the Canadian Rockies from Southern California. We are looking for a couple people to form a committee to help organize this event. We will need to plan for an outing, meals, music, etc.
If you are able to help out please e-mail melannie@sierraclubchinook.org or call the Sierra Club office and leave a message 233-7332.
